Current term's curriculum activities for the MORNING class.

Summer Term

Literacy

 Narrative:  Stories from other cultures.

Non-fiction: Persuasive texts .

Non-fiction: Explanation texts.

 

Numeracy

  

Counting partitioning and calculating.

Securing number facts, understanding shape.

Handling data and measure.

Calculating measuring and understanding shape.

Securing number facts, relationships and calculating.

 

Science

 

Habitats. Including an understanding of the local habitats and why organisms are found in different environments. Food sources and food chains.

Exploring Forces. The children will be exploring the strengths of different shapes and how they can be used to build different load bearing structures. Children will be reviewing and reinforcing their knowledge of friction and how it can be reduced.

  Homework

Homework will go out on a Thursday and needs to be handed in on a Monday morning

Foundation Subjects

 D & T: Musical instruments.

R.E. Change and Exploring Sikhism.

History: NA

Geography: A portrait of Europe.

ICT: Mad about Ads. The children create a unique brand and create a poster and radio advert.

Art: Exploring abstract art and journeys.

PSHE: Relationships.

Music: Stars, hide your fires. Who knows?

P.E. Athletics. Cricket.

PE. days Monday and Friday
